A B O U T

Melinda Barsales is a yoga teacher in Austin, TX. In the summer of 2013 she completed an immersive 200-hour yoga teacher training in Vinyasa Krama Yoga with Srivatsa Ramaswami at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. She has also received continuing education in Restorative, Yin, Ayurveda, Prenatal, and Yoga for Children and Families from Sacred Roots Yoga School, Beauty Blossom Birth, and The Little Yoga House in Austin and Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX, and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Counseling at St. Edward’s University.

Melinda believes in the power of Yoga to connect deeply to oneself, to build compassion for others, and to foster stewardship for the world in which we live. Her physical practice is one of slow, mindful movement synchronized with breath, and sensitivity for the art of yogasana. In her classes you will explore not only the physical postures associated with yoga, but also breathing and meditation techniques as well as yogic philosophy and chanting.

In addition to teaching public classes, Melinda also teaches corporate yoga and meditation classes through Being Well Yoga and has been a member of Pam Johnson's Tadasana Breath Troupe
